DDD Perth 2025 - How to make security shut up (without getting fired)

Slides

Talking to security can feel like a trap. You’re just trying to build something cool and they’re all like “threats, risks, vulnerabilities bla bla bla”. The thing is, security don’t want to ruin your day. They just lack context.

In this session we’ll break down how to apply threat modelling to clearly communicate how you’re thinking about security. No buzzwords, no hackers in hoodies, just a practical guide on how to spot issues early and show security you’ve done your homework.

Whether you’re working solo, part of a team, or just want to level up your security skills, this session will give you tools to move fast and stay secure. (Plus you’ll also have less scary meetings with security)
